So, I slept in my curlers for about 10 hours (I’m getting sick, give me a break), and it was actually surprisingly comfortable! It was like an extra cushion for my head!
The results after I had just taken the rollers out:
I felt like I was ready to attend a debutante ball with those ringlets! I kind of loved them…
Anyway, all the tutorials said to actually brush out the curls from this stage, which I was SUPER skeptical about, since curls never stay in my hair even without brushing it, but I followed the rules.
Those results are less cute:
It looks a bit less rat-nesty in real life. I worked some pomade through the curls as I futzing with them, and then sprayed everything with firm hold hairspray.
I’m not doing much but sitting around the house today being sick, so these curls don’t have to make it through much today, but we’ll see.
At this point, I think one big problem is that my hair is just too long to really do this style effectively. Plus, my rolling technique isn’t great, leading to some dents and bumps in the hair where it should be smooth. But that’s something that would come practice.
I’ve been having lots of fun doing this, so if these curls don’t disappear in an hour I might give it another try in a couple weeks. I was planning on cutting a couple inches off my hair at my appointment on the 9th, so that might help this to work out a little better.
I’ll update at the end of the night to see if my hair has done what I assume it will do, and sag back into it’s god-forsaken straightness.
